Lauren Daigle – “How Can It Be”

In her debut project, Lauren Daigle has come onto the Contemporary Christian music scene in a major way. Her voice is soulful, yet peaceful. The transparency shown through the lyrics is both soothing and refreshing. If you enjoy the Psalms of David, you will enjoy “How Can it Be”.

This project takes us on an intimate journey through the life of the Believer. The mellow sounds of this project allow for the listener to reflect on the meaning without getting lost in the beat. The music serves as an accompaniment and does not overshadow the message being conveyed.

In climatic fashion, Ms. Daigle takes the listener on a journey of prayer starting with “First” which implores one to seek the heart of God before laying out their own wants and desires. In Davidic fashion, the artist then takes us on a journey of confession and surrender with the title track “How Can It Be”, “My Revival” and “Trust in You”. The listener is encouraged to remember that as we surrender and trust God, He is “Loyal” and has the “Power to Redeem”. Through redemption, the focus then shifts to the authority of the Believer to speak to the “Dry Bones” and make them come alive. As an army rising out of the ashes, the Believer will rise.

Finally, when all is said and done, the Believer can rest and know that the Lord God Jehovah is God over the storm and we belong to Him. Regardless of the situation or circumstances we can proclaim in full assurance of hope, “’O Lord’, when the time is right, you’ll take all that is wrong and make it right!”

I’m glad you posted your thoughts about the “How can it be” project. It made me pull out my CD I’ve had for about a year now. I love it frI’m “First” to “Once and for All” I’m glad there are other genres of music to enjoy other than traditional gospel, I love the variety black, white, as long as you’re singing about the Lord and encourging my Soul!!!

Thank you for your response. I’ve heard these songs for a while now. But the Lord directed me to buy the CD. The sound Biblical messages ministered to me through a recent rough patch. Good knows what we need, when we need it. While pulling us through, He deposits something in us to help pull someone else through.

  2. A song with a message delivered so beautifully.
