2017: MARCH From the Editor-ARCHIVE

Spring Forward

We are so excited to celebrate Teachable Moments Magazine’s first anniversary of being online! TM Magazine has distinguished itself from other online magazines because we put a positive spin on current events as we promote encouraging and thought-provoking messages. As we grow and evolve, we welcome two new authors, Kwanza Gipson and Keona Ellerbe. These two women of God have so much wisdom to share and I am pleased with how God is using them to encourage, uplift and empower His people.

With so many critical events that have happened this past winter, we must remain vigilant and take hold of a fresh mode of thinking. For this reason, this quarter’s edition focuses on the theme: “Spring Forward.” Yes, to everything there is a season. Spring is a great time for personal and spiritual refreshing; allowing God to purge, then promote us to where He wants us in life.

I am so grateful for fresh grace granted by God each day. It encourages me to give God fresh praise…not yesterday’s, but praise for the day that He has made, causing me to rejoice and be glad to see another brand new day. Another day to bless others, impart wisdom, receive prosperity and show the love of Christ! “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD” (Ps 118:24-26, KJV).

Satan would love to keep us in a gloom and doom state; depressed, stressed and overwhelmed by the political disarray facing our country. I, like most, have been sickened by the current events, until I had a fresh encounter with God that moved me to forward-thinking concepts and beliefs. “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert” (Isa 43:18-19, KJV). This new thing (thought process) has given me a boost of energy. A key enabler to this new thought process is the morning manna from Pastor George W. Hawkins, Jr. I have my devotions in the morning prior to leaving the house. But, these on-time, FRESH snippets of God’s Word empowers the hearers to not look back, but take each day as a new opportunity to REJOICE in the Lord and Spring Forward!

Thank you for your continued readership, prayers and support. May God Bless you to have a powerful, fresh and rejuvenated moment each day in worship with our Almighty God!
