2021: JUNE From the Editor

FROM THE EDITOR

Happy Father’s Day to All the Dads!

As we look forward to normal, I hope that those who weren’t able to do so last year, have the opportunity to restore relationships and gather with their fathers on Father’s Day!

In this Edition, we have two exceptional articles that speak to the importance of a father in the lives of their children and in the home. “I Want My Daddy” by Shawn Outlaw and “My Daddy” by Alisha Gray.  Elder Jerry Woods reveals how the hurt is real as experienced by the loss of his father in his article, “My Loved One is Gone…..Now What?

Keona Ellerbe, “The Power to Break Free!” and Jasmine Merrill, “Freedom Through Restoration” describe how when restoration is invoked, one can experience the freedom they so desire.  When you tap into what God is doing, the shift will bring about freedom.

When I read the poem by Victoria Rollins, “I Am Here”, I thought about the American poet and activist, Amanda S. C. Gorman, who so eloquently delivered her poem, “The Hill We Climb” at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.  I beamed with excitement and am honored to share this platform with another up-and-coming young and gifted poet.
