2020: DECEMBER From the Editor-ARCHIVE

FROM THE EDITOR

Never Alone ~

2020 is an unforgettable year that will make history due to the many world events and calamities – definitely an unwritten and unthinkable year!  The COVID-19 pandemic, which touched every country world-wide, has affected millions with sickness, temporary and in some cases permanent disabilities, death, and loneliness; children and parents being separated socially from schoolmates and the workplace due to the pandemic; a desperate search for a vaccine to eradicate the virus; the killings of African Americans by police officers and the protests that followed; a tumultuous political and election season; and an unprecedented reluctancy of a smooth transfer of power, damaging the political democracy established by our founding fathers.

These unfortunate 2020 events have made celebrating both Thanksgiving and Christmas difficult and lonely for many.  There’s been such a worldwide longing for peace, healing, and restoration.  Loneliness has been one of the primary effects resulting from these world tragedies.

We’re grateful for our thoughtful authors who have penned their experiences of these and other effects of loneliness and paths to move to a better place.  Focus areas include:

  • Tips to fill the voids of loneliness
  • How to help your child cope with loneliness
  • Mary’s teachable moment where she found favor with God during her loneliness
  • Why Jesus spent time alone with His Father
  • Although we hurt when our loved ones leave us through death or mental illness, we have hope knowing that we can find comfort in Jesus ~ Our Immanuel—God is with us!  For we are Never Alone.

We appreciate our readership and ask that you take a moment to post your comments on the author’s article page.

May you all have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Healthy New Year!
