FROM THE EDITOR

The Spirit of Community

“If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.” 1 Corinthians 12:26. In this edition, the focus is on “The Spirit of Community”. How are we doing with being kind to another, caring about local and global crises to the point of sharing the weight with a call to action, embracing our village to help support this new generation, and opening our resource pots to share with those in need instead of walking by.

How often do we walk by a homeless person, or see an item of clothing which has fallen off the store rack and now on the floor and expect the salesperson to retrieve it? These are simple yet glaring examples of what we encounter on a frequent basis. Remember, what we walk by, we condone.

When we invoke love – the spirit of community will flourish… this is where each person is invaluable, irreplaceable and can feel safe.

The only test of our character that matters is how we look after the least fortunate among us.

“Our uniqueness, our individuality, and our life experience molds us into fascinating beings. I hope we can embrace that. I pray we may all challenge ourselves to delve into the deepest resources of our hearts to cultivate an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance, tolerance, and compassion. We are all in this life together.” – Linda D. Thompson
